Haux Hive Accountability Plan

Statement of Acknowledgement

On October 27, 2022 there was an on stage consent violation by Mistress Mahogany resulting in harm caused to Jennifer Eden and Kassidy. The incident left many of the people in the room feeling confused, uncomfortable, and violated. While I wasn’t present for the entire incident, what I did witness and the subsequent conversations with those in attendance, lead to the creation of the foundation of this Accountability Plan.

Accountability Plan

In order to begin to stand in accountability and make amends, I, Brooke Jay and The Haux Hive are being asked to:

  • Create accountability blog with a minimum of monthly updates. Starting with statement of acknowledgement of the incident.

  • Build a Haux Hive event team of people with experience facilitating kink events.

  • Brooke Jay will undergo training in:

  • All Haux Hive staff will take yearly bystander training and basic dungeon/play etiquette classes.

  • Develop a policy and procedures doc with both internal and external processes.

    • Due to the nature of the specific incident, the following personnel should be present at each event::

      • two in-house, trained Haux Hive security

      • two guest/audience support specialist

      • 4 trained dungeon monitors (if play is included in event)

  • Increase regular (quarterly minimum) public education on consent, play safety and dungeon etiquette.

  • Discount a future event to attendees that evening.

We deeply apologize to all those affected and for any harm caused by our actions or lack-there-of.  Changed behavior is the sincerest form of apology, so honoring this accountability process is our utmost priority at this time.

Thank you for your support and patience during this process.

See you on the other side 🍯🐝
